The frequency plan
Each wireless system occupies a frequency. Two systems too close together interfere with each other, and a transmitter outside the venue can appear without warning.
We scan the spectrum at the site survey, calculate intermodulation and keep coordinated backup frequencies. On a site with several simultaneous events, this is the work that prevents a dropout in the middle of a speech.

Frequently asked questions
Lavalier or headset?
A headset stays at a constant distance from the mouth, so the level does not change when the speaker turns their head. A lavalier is more discreet but loses 6 to 10 dB as soon as the person turns, and it rubs against clothing. For a speech that matters, a headset.
How many wireless microphones can be used at the same time?
It depends on the spectrum available at the venue, not on the equipment. We scan the spectrum at the site survey, because an urban venue is crowded and a neighbouring event may occupy the same frequencies. The frequency plan is calculated, not improvised.
What if a microphone fails in the middle of a speech?
A backup microphone already switched on and open on the console, ready to be handed over. For a critical speech, the speaker is fitted directly with two transmitters. Changing a battery in front of the audience is not a fallback plan.
Do batteries last a whole day?
Rarely over a full event. We change batteries at every break and monitor levels from the control room, because a transmitter that switches off rarely does so at a convenient moment.
