Frequently asked questions about LED screen rental

Working rule: the smallest comfortable pitch in millimetres is roughly the distance of the nearest viewer in metres. Choose finer when the content includes text or faces, and coarser for images alone seen from afar. Nearest viewer closer than 3 m: P1.9 to P2.6. From 3 to 5 m: P2.6 to P3.9. From 5 to 15 m: P3.9 to P6. Beyond 15 m: P6 and above. We recalculate based on the actual content before confirming.

It is derived from the distance of the furthest viewer and from what is being shown. Text needs much more image height than ambient video. Working rule: the height of a character should be at least one two-hundredth of the distance of the furthest viewer.

Three common formats: 3.5 x 2 m (7 m², up to about 150 people), 4.5 x 2.5 m (11.25 m², 150 to 500 people) and 5.5 x 3 m (16.5 m², over 500 people). Custom sizes from 2 m² up to large surfaces. The screen can be ground stacked, flown or mounted on a freestanding structure. We bring 10% spare modules on site, and the signal is cabled in a double loop.

It depends on the screen size, the type of panels and the brightness used. It is calculated case by case and checked at the site survey. A power supply sized to the bare minimum holds during the build and fails during the show, when the brightness goes up.

The resolution of an LED wall depends on the number of panels and rarely matches a standard format. We supply the exact template before content is produced, which avoids stretched or cropped images.

Yes, with panels designed for outdoor use. An indoor panel installed outside is not weatherproof. The second constraint is wind: an LED wall is a solid surface, so ballast or anchoring has to be calculated.

Yes, it produces its own light. This is the essential difference from projection, which depends on how dark the venue is.

It depends on the scale and on equipment availability. The real limiting factor is the site survey: until access, electrical power and the mounting point are checked, the configuration cannot be confirmed.

Yes. We deliver, install, set up and then dismantle. Our technicians are present throughout the show, with backup equipment close at hand. A dry hire, installed without operation, is possible: it then appears as a separate line on the quote.
