Practical constraints in Lausanne
The city is built on a slope. Between Ouchy and the Cité, the streets climb steeply: a truck cannot park just anywhere, and the route for the flight cases between the vehicle and the room is checked at the site survey, with its ramps, goods lifts and stairs.
The old town and part of the centre are pedestrian zones or have restricted traffic. Deliveries there follow set hours and unloading is planned accordingly.
Outdoors, use of public land must be declared to the municipality, usually through the cantonal events portal (POCAMA), with conditions on noise and hours. By the lake, the wind picks up quickly, so the ballast for a screen or a structure is calculated from its wind load.
